Internet Links

Camp Moore Confederate Cemetery and Museum- Camp Moore located in Tangipahoa, LA was the birthplace and training ground for the 16th Louisiana Infantry Regiment among many others. http://personal.atl.bellsouth.net/c/o/cosby_w/

Confederate Memorial Hall- This museum is located at 929 Camp Street, across the street from the National D-Day Museum in New Orleans, LA. It is second only to the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, VA, in the size of its Confederate artifact collection. In its vault rests the tattered colors of the 16th Louisiana Infantry Regiment, awaiting restoration to its former glory (see "Flag Restoration") http://www.confederatemuseum.com/

Geoffrey Walden’s Columbus Depot Jacket Web page- Excellent, excellent site with pictures of variations of the Columbus Depot jacket. An ideal source to use before having a jacket made by a seamstress. Educates as to the number of buttons, color variations, tail type etc. http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Quarters/1864/cdjacket.htm

John Wedeward’s Sack Coat Site-- John Wedeward’s Sack Coat Site is to the sack coat what Geoff Walden’s site is to Depot jackets. It contains a lot of detailed information and photos of coats from the Smithsonian Institute, with useful construction details, maker’s marks etc. An excellent online source for information on this common garment. http://www2.inxpress.net/jwedeward/
